Bill no longer has any copies of 'plain songs' left, so if your in the US your best bet is through distros and independent stores or through little old me. Reviews for 'plain songs' are featuring in the latest word, felix music and the next mixmag (strangely) so check them out.
Bill just finished a couple of dates in NY so kudos if you got to see him. UK dates? Heres hoping. If you want Future Corpses 7" they have a whole bunch and will be giving them out on tour. Make sure you catch them with LITE who are rather fantastic, pick up their debut at transduction yo.

As I'm sure some of you are aware, I've been hard at work on release number 3. However, a lot of hold ups and general screw ups have been pushing the release date back and back.
But patience has it rewards. Yeah, its finally here, SOS 003:
"W.W.Lowman - Plain Songs
This record has been some 3 years in the making, composed by Warren 'Bill' Lowman of Bosco and Jorge fame. 6 tracks of finger plucking goodness featuring a list of additional players longer than my arm. I have been spinning this record for the best part of this year and it is by far one of my all time favourites.
Bill has been apart of the Chicago scene since 1998 and has worked and toured with the likes of Jim O'Rourke, Tortoise, L'altra, Smog, Aluminum Group, Alasdair Roberts, Edith Frost, Bobby Conn, Lindsay Anderson, Will Oldham, The Decemberists and Joanna Newsom to name just a handful."Check out a track of the record <right here>.
Hopefully the record will be in all good stores by January. Thanks for stopping by!

Biography
W.W. Lowman came to the city of Chicago in 1998. While interning at ACME studios Jim O'Rourke heard him playing a guitar. He was so taken with this unique sound that he asked Lowman to perform with him at the opening of a Tom Ze/Tortoise show. Soon word of his technique and versatility spread and he found himself playing and touring with a wide variety of Chicago musical luminaries: L'altra, Smog, Aluminum Group, Alasdair Roberts, Edith Frost, Bobby Conn, Lindsay Anderson, and Will Oldham.
W.W. Lowman continues to perform and tour with the likes of the above artists he has concentrated his efforts of late on his solo work and with longtime collaborators Bosco & Jorge and Lindsay Anderson.
Press for Plain Songs:
"...an album that is lyrical, wistful and entirely gorgeous... Lowman completely escapes ordinary indie/rock structures while still creating accessible, memorable songs that are anything but plain."
- The Word, Issue 55"Lowman spent three years making this lush, orchestral pop album; and it sounds like it was well worth the wait. Lowman’s relaxed delivery makes the songs glide..."
- Pop Matters"Indelibly rich and well versed in all the things that the 90’s Chicago scene had to offer, Lowman succinctly navigates the outer edges of the math / post rock scene like a trapeze artist tentatively marshals a high wire..."

Biography
woe = 4 piece from southend, uk. skronky avant chaps who neither rock or roll but rumble. hey colossus spent a day with them in a studio in essex a few months back. nine people creating labyrinths of ooze and hell, 2 drummers, 2 trumpets, guitars, 2 basses, 1 keyboard. covering in a silent way (miles davis) and creating an original. it's lovely...
Press for Woe Colossus:
"The merging of two groups into one, London behemoths Hey Colossus and Southend's own Woe, to create the amazing Woe Colossus is showcased here on this heavyweight twelve inch with interesting results.
The first side is meant to be a reworking of the Miles Davis classic 'In a Silent Way' and is built on a lazy stoner-like riff that really builds with the use of saxophones, two drummers and what sounds like a tonne of amps. It drifts in and out of intensity but really hits the spot, maintaining enough interest through its long span, you can tell Hey Colossus are at work here through the guitar tone alone, but obviously the four members of Woe have had a more jazz and improv-like influence on the whole affair and its nice to hear such a daring coupling working so well, let alone be released.
Second side, and more experimental, is 'Vanilla' an apparently original piece that brings to mind moments of Tom Waits and Sunn0)) as unexpected influences. Largely based on a lurching, malevolent rhythm, this track slowly builds as it reaches a noise-like conclusion, its use of unconventional sounds and the same lethargic beat all the way through really create a sense of claustrophobia..."
- NineHertz"...with any collaboration there is going to be a little bit of a compromise expecially when the two bands work in such different ways, it was the skill with which they handled the transitions that really struck me. Woe deal with drone and free improvisation, hey collossus rely on weight and rhythm so this was never going to be easy... They reached grinding peaks and dwelt seethingly on some flaying noise but never seemed to lose momentum or power...."

Biography
London based three piece of drums, guitar and bass. Post Rock.
Press for Future Corpses:
"...It's their rawness and youth that gives them the ability to portray the songs in a way a computer can not. In a genre that relies heavily on the unpredictabilty of the instruments working in unison to produce music that makes you think, this band make their 3 instruments sound like a robot uprising in a Maths lesson. In case you are wondering thats a good thing.
Future Corpses have the potential to become the new standard bearers of the genre, opening doors for bands less accessible and less talented than themselves..."
